AZIOT smart devices work with the free Smart Life app, letting you control your home from anywhere. Here's how to add a new device and connect it to your Wi-Fi in minutes.
Before you start
- Connect your phone to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network (AZIOT devices do not support 5GHz).
- Turn on your phone's Bluetooth and Location for faster pairing.
- Install Smart Life from the App Store or Google Play and create a free account.
Step 1: Put the device in pairing mode
To put a device into pairing mode, first power-cycle it at the MCB (switch off, wait ~10 seconds, switch on). Then:
- Smart plugs & touch switches — press and hold the button for 5–10 seconds until the indicator blinks rapidly.
- Smart retrofit switches — quickly toggle the connected manual wall switch ON/OFF 7–8 times until the indicator blinks rapidly.
Step 2: Add the device in the app
- Open Smart Life and tap the + icon, then Add Device.
- Let it auto-detect the nearby device (or pick the category manually).
- Select your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and enter the password carefully.
- Wait for it to connect, then give it a name and assign it to a room.
EZ mode vs AP mode
If standard pairing (EZ mode) fails, switch to AP mode in the app. In AP mode your phone briefly joins the device's own hotspot, which is more reliable on busy networks.
